Craig worked for careyjones architects from 2000; originally for a one year RIBA Part 1 placement and returning in 2003 after successfully completing his RIBA Part 2 architectural studies. Whilst at careyjones, Craig worked on a series of high profile projects including Thorpe Park (a major 1.8 million sqft business park at a strategic location on the outskirts of Leeds) and the Granary Wharf Development in Leeds where he worked on the multiple award-winning Candle House – an iconic circular twenty-three storey residential tower.
Craig also took a lead role in the master planning and individual building designs for two major regeneration projects for Ask Developments at Townside, Bury (a £70 million, 165,000sqft scheme comprising 46,000sqft of commercial office space, an eighty key hotel, townhouses and apartments, combined with extensive public landscaping) and at Church Wharf, in Bolton.
In 2010 Craig joined Fuse as one of the original founding members of the team. Since that time, Craig has worked on a wide range of projects, ranging in both scale and sector, from small scale educational buildings to the masterplanning of a substantial new business park in Scotland.
Craig served as project architect, overseeing the overall master planning strategy of the park, including co-ordination of utility services, landscaping and highways, whilst also developing a stand-alone design code for the client, intended to aid land purchase investors with individual plot development.
At Greenhead College in Huddersfield, Craig led the Fuse team that designed a new 4 storey teaching accommodation block which had to be inserted whilst the surrounding college campus remained in use.
Within the student accommodation sector, Craig was project architect for the VITA Student refurbishment projects in Southampton and Sheffield. Most recently, Craig has been responsible for the design, planning, and delivery of the 500 bed student residential developments for VITA Student Living in Coventry, due for completion Spring 2023.
