After completing his architectural studies in New South Wales in Australia, Simon spent five years working as an architectural assistant in Sydney for Hassell. In 2008 Simon emigrated to the UK and his next architectural assistant role was at Denton Corker Marshall in London. Whilst there, Simon was a key member of the façade team designing the Birmingham Law Court Building. In 2010 Simon moved to Jestico + Whiles in London, where he qualified as an architect. Whilst there, Simon was architectural package coordinator for the 252 key Aloft Hotel in London.
In 2012 Simon began working for Hodder + Partners in Manchester. His key project was running the design and delivery of a new Grade A office building at St Paul’s Place in Sheffield. Between 2015 and 2017 undertook his first period of work at Fuse Studios, working in our Manchester office for three years. At Fuse, Simon was project architect on Moda Living’s first BTR scheme, Angel Gardens in Manchester.
In 2017 Simon moved to MDB architects in Manchester, where he was the Head of Architecture and an Associate Director. In 2020 Simon joined Chapman Taylor architects in Manchester, where he was project architect for the delivery of Block B + C Hayes Village in London: the residential redevelopment of a former Nestle factory site.
In 2023 Simon came “back home” to Fuse and has worked on several high-profile projects for the practice, including Moda Living’s 392 home Heworth Green project, Princes Exchange office refurbishment in Leeds, plus Masterplanning a large city centre site in Leeds. More recently Simon has been instrumental in the design of a new 600 bed PBSA project in central Nottingham, which is currently at the delivery stages.
