PROFILE

Scott joined careyjones immediately after obtaining his First Class honours degree from Huddersfield University, having earlier decided to give up a promising career as a professional footballer for a career in interior design. Since his qualification, Scott has worked across all market sectors but has developed a particular expertise in the field of corporate office, leisure and hospitality interiors.

Scott has successfully delivered a series of large, complex leisure projects on both sides of the Atlantic. Working for St. Louis-based Isle of Capri Casinos Inc, Scott developed casino resort designs for properties in Missouri, Pennsylvania and Mississippi, as well as handing over the acclaimed Isle Casino at Pompano Park in Florida and The Isle at the new Ricoh Arena in Coventry, UK. These casinos were the first in a new line of re-branded properties for the Client and have played a key role in repositioning The Isle brand in the market place.

This experience, together with his constant exposure to major leisure projects in North America and Europe, places Scott in a unique position to offer the most up-to-date knowledge in the sector, both in terms of design and operation. His US work has also led to Scott being admitted as an international member of the American Society of Interior Designers.

Passionate that all projects receive the same level of detail and attention, Scott has not only enjoyed success in the development and delivery of existing brands but also in the design of smaller bespoke projects, including a Michelin-starred restaurant and the multiple-award-winning fashion retail store – Sarah Coggles in York. Scott was also responsible for the design and delivery of the new international headquarters for cult hair beauty brand ghd. This highly successful project received the coveted Northern Region Award from the British Council for Offices and was shortlisted for a National Award.

Since the Fuse’s formation, Scott has overseen the completion of two projects: an office fit-out for GE Capital and a new Brazilian restaurant, Fazenda, at Granary Wharf in Leeds. Scott is currently part of the Fuse team assisting Hard Rock Cafe with their major European re-branding and new destination roll-out programme. Wanting to keep close ties with the interior designers of the future and “to put something back,” Scott also acts as the external examiner for the University of Northumbria.
