Its a remarkable building but sadly, much of its original interior was destroyed as part of major remodellings in the 1940s and 1990s. We are carefully preserving all the original elements that survive. We hope you’ll like the end result.

Wow nice and looks so expensive. It looks like a candle. How did they build that very big building? It has nice view. Many actually wish to go to this place to see the buliding.

Hi Andrew, thank you for your interest in Fuse and 44 Westgate in particular. We are currently developing ideas for another use on the site and should be making a planning application in only a few weeks. Coincidentally, discussion with the Local Authority and English Heritage have also included debate about the new, proposed building’s vertical accent. Carrying on watching this space for our latest ideas…

An coolly attractive, elegant building. It’s a little understated – not necessarily a bad thing in general but not quite the right design for this site I think. The Victorian buildings around it are strongly vertical in accent, whereas this scheme appears weak and horizontally-accented, disrupting the street’s visual rhythm. But a serious improvement on its predecessor certainly.
